Our DNA testing services

Focused on pigeon genetic analysis, providing scientific data for breeding and professional breeding.

Analysis of 8 core genetic loci for racing pigeons

Our laboratory focuses on genetic analysis of racing pigeons, detecting eight genetic loci: LDHA, CRY1, DRD4, MSTN, LRP8, GSR, CASK, and F-KER.

Testing basis

  • Supported by peer-reviewed professional scientific literature as theoretical support.
  • Relying on tens of thousands of internal large-sample databases of racing pigeons in the lab, correlation is verified.
  • There is a practical correlation between genotyping data and the actual competition results of racing pigeons.
  • It meets the practical needs of pigeon loft breeding and professional care, and can be used as a breeding reference.
  • Researchers are asking for data, not speculation.

In-depth analysis of 8 core genetic loci of racing pigeons

01

LDHA

Endurance/Speed

  • Top genotype: AA
  • Good genotype: AG
  • Common genotype: GG

Scientific Insights:Long-distance fatigue resistance and lactic acid breakdown. AA is the ideal choice for high-intensity and long-distance races.

02

CRY1

Navigation capability

  • Optimal genotype: TTTT (magnetic sensitivity maxed out, ultra-long distance 700KM + strong advantage in overnight races in harsh weather)
  • Excellent genotypes: ATTT, ATAT (geomagnetic sensing capability suitable for 100-600KM events)
  • Good genotypes: AGTT, AGAT
  • Common genotype: AGAG

Scientific Insights:The CRY1 gene is expressed in pigeons' retina. Cryptoanthocyanidin is a protein that is the core molecule for racing pigeons to sense the Earth's magnetic field and circadian rhythms, directly determining the accuracy of directional flight over long distances.

03

DRD4

Return Perseverance Indicator

  • Superior genotype: CTCT (dominant advantage over 400KM <over medium and short distances, Europe's top champion pigeon, mainstream auction genotype)
  • Excellent genotype: TTCC
  • Good genotypes: CCCT, CTCC
  • Common genotype: CCCC

Scientific Insights:Strong homing drive (does not land midway for play, and is not swept away by flocks); Stress resistance and focus on the track (even in high temperatures, strong winds, and long distances, fatigue remains oriented and doesn't panic and circle in circles); Exploratory decision-making ability (quickly determining flight routes when encountering clouds, mountains, or magnetic field disturbances); Learning and memory skills (suitable for multi-level formats).

⚠ CCTT, CTTT, and TTTT currently lack sufficient data support.

04

F-KER

Feather-like wind resistance and wear resistance in harsh weather

  • Top genotype: TT (Long-Distance King) >500KM
  • Good genotype: GT (Medium and Short Distance Priority) < 400 KM
  • Common genotype: GG (only suitable for short training)

Scientific Insights:Determines feather smoothness, feather toughness, abrasion resistance, and aerodynamic resistance.

05

MSTN

Muscle strength and explosive power

  • Top genotype: CC (Ultra-long distance)
  • Good genotype: CT (all-around balanced, 300-600KM multi-level race, suitable for race schedules)
  • Common genotype: TT

Scientific Insights:It directly determines whether the racing pigeons are short-distance burst or long-distance endurance.

06

LRP8

Memory indicators

  • Top genotype: HH (maxed memory range, ultra-long thousand-kilometer race, multi-day overnight races, releasing in harsh weather without loss, suitable for long-distance breeding)
  • Good genotype: QH
  • Common genotype: QQ

Scientific Insights:LRP8 is a new mandatory indicator for long-distance, specialized breeding laboratories in Europe, with market demand rising year by year.

07

GSR

Directional indicators for rainy and cloudy days

  • Top genotype: TT (Ultra-long-distance, King of Severe Weather)
  • Good genotype: CT
  • Common genotype: CC

Scientific Insights:Essential for rainy days, mountainous areas, and geomagnetic anomalies.

08

CASK

IQ indicators

  • Top genotype: AA (standard for high-end breeding pigeons)
  • Good genotype: AG
  • Common genotype: GG

Scientific Insights:Learning ability, adaptability, and reaction speed.

Important matters

  • Pigeon racing results are multi-gene and multi-factor traits. These results assess genetic potential and do not guarantee the outcome of the race.
  • Non-genetic factors such as training, nutrition, environment, and health status play decisive roles.
  • All reports are for scientific research and breeding reference only.
  • The key to excellent breeding is to optimize the overall genetic system, rather than pursuing a single "perfect gene."
